Jim Stimson

Jim has been fishing since he was a kid, catching bluegill and crappie with his grandfather on the local ponds in Iowa. With his dad, he fished for northern pike and musky in Canada, then yellowtail and bonito in the Sea of Cortez in Mexico. After graduating from UC Riverside with a degree in biology, Jim moved permanently to the Eastern Sierra in 1975. He has been fishing the waters along the Eastside and the backcountry for decades.

Since completing guide school with Confluence Outfitters in Fall River Mills, he has been guiding the streams and rivers in his backyard, the Sierra. Jim is passionate and enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge of fly fishing.
