Originally from Maryland, Brett cut his teeth targeting Smallmouth Bass and other warmwater species. An obsessive learner and a passionate fly fisherman, he’s constantly looking for new outlets to expand his knowledge in everything from entomology to fish behavior, to fly tying.
Although his primary game fish is trout, on his days off you can find him chasing anything from Permit to Bull Trout in his never-ending pursuit of a bent rod. His guilty pleasure is targeting predatory trout with 4-6” streamers that he ties himself (and also sells) in search of “the one.” It seems that the search is never over, but at least he has some trophies to show for it!
Brett’s obsession with seeing the bigger picture on the water makes him an adaptable angler and a dependable flyfishing guide. Brett became part of the Troutfitter team in 2017 and has been a welcome addition in both the shop, and on the water.
