Dave Harvey has been a resident of Mammoth Lakes for over 20 years attending grade school through high school locally. He has been fishing the Eastern Sierra since he was just a boy with his father. Dave has been employed at the Troutfitter for 5 years and guiding out of the shop for 3 years.
Dry fly fishing is his favorite method; however, he is knowledgeable in many different fly fishing techniques. During the winter season, Dave splits his time between working at Mammoth Mountain as a certified ski instructor and guiding winter fly fishing trips.
Dave is a father of two daughters who share his passion for the outdoors. Being a father has taught him patience with kids both on the water as well as the ski slopes.
His approach is “safety, fun, learning” and uses this method with everything that he teaches.
